How to install WiFiCloudNet Firmware on Ubiquiti PicoStation M2HP

Download WiFiCloudNet Firmware

LINUX

  • Power off the PicoStation M2HP device
  • Your Linux system must have an IP address in the 192.168.1.X/24 range
  • Connect the PicoStation M2HP device to your PC
  • Keep holding the reset button, then power the unit on. Wait 8 seconds then release the button. Signal LEDs will be lit indicating that the device is ready to receive the firmware
  • Check if the PicoStation M2HP responds on 192.168.1.20. If it doesn't, go back to the first step
  • Open terminal, go to the folder in which you stored the WifiCloudNet firmware file and run following commands
  • root@linux:~#tftp 192.168.1.20
    tftp> bin
    tftp> trace
    tftp> put wcn-v1-picom2hp.bin
    Sent 3670428 bytes in 2.1 seconds
    tftp> exit
  • Wait for a while to allow the device to reboot - do not power off the device during the procedure. It will take a DHCP IP address, if a DHCP server is available; otherwise it will take the 192.168.66.1 fallback IP address
  • Now your PicoStation M2HP is ready to add in your account with wificloudnet.com

WINDOWS

  • Power off the PicoStation M2HP
  • Windows PC's Ethernet must be configured manually with the following settings
  • IP Address: 192.168.1.254, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
  • Connect your PicoStationm2hp device to your PC
  • Keep holding the reset button, then power the unit on. Wait 8 seconds then release the button. Signal LEDs will be lit indicating that the device is ready to receive the firmware
  • Make sure that PicoStation M2HP device responds to pings (perform a ping 192.168.1.20 from a DOS window), if it does not, go back to the first step
  • From Windows PC, you can use TFTP command line from a DOS window (START COMMAND PROMPT) and go into the same directory where you stored the firmware. Run following command tftp -i 192.168.1.20 put wcn-v1-picom2hp.bin
  • Wait for a while to allow the device to reboot - do not power off the device during the procedure. It will take a DHCP IP address, if a DHCP server is available; otherwise it will take the 192.168.66.1 fallback IP address
  • Now your PicoStation M2HP is ready to add in your account with wificloudnet.com
